For a smooth ride, look for a stroller with big foam tyres that are puncture resistant and have excellent suspension. Think about a shopping basket, or a weather protection system.

This pram is a luxury all-terrain model that features an enormous shopping basket as well as an expandable canopy and a practical tray for parents with a drink holder. You can also put on a footmuff to keep baby warm and allow harness access. A rain cover will shield you from unexpected rainstorms.

The Ocarro is an excellent option for families who want to make a premium investment that will last throughout the life of your baby. Its spacious, lie-flat seat promotes healthy sleeping patterns in newborns while its reclining features allow you to be able to move around. Cybex Avi

Created for all your future runs with your baby, the Cybex Avi is lightweight and designed to be streamlined for superior running performance in parks and streets in urban areas. It comes with a comfortable handlebar for easy steering and soft suspension to deliver a smooth ride. The swivel in the front can be locked in place for stability while running, and the Air-filled tires promise cushioned comfort. It also comes with an ergonomically reclining seat that is suitable from birth and can be used in conjunction with the Cot S Carrycot or any Cybex infant car seat to make an entire travel system. Reflective details provide security, while an XL Sun canopy offers protection for your child and you from the elements.

MadeForMums has tested the Cybex Avi Spin on our behalf and had the opportunity to take it with Genevieve Gregson, one of the top middle-distance athletes in Australia who is also a new mum. We asked her what she thought about the pram and what she thought could be improved.

The Avi Spin is a fantastic all-terrain stroller that offers the flexibility that modern families requires from the moment they start. The front swivel wheel has no rival for manoeuvrability in tight city corners and the tyres that are filled with air provide comfortable cushioning on city walks, nature walks or even runs. The swing can be locked to provide additional stability when running on uneven terrain. The fully reclining seat is designed ergonomically to lay flat and is suitable for babies from birth. The one-pull strap makes it easier to access and exit the seat, while the compact folding makes it easy to store or transport. Wheels can be removed to create a smaller fold. It's unfortunate that the brake lever is located on the right side of the handlebar as this can make it hard to apply using just one hand.

Out N About Nipper V5

The Out Nipper V5 lets you to take your baby for easy jogs or off-road walks in total ease. The lightweight frame, rear suspension and air-filled tires provide the most comfortable ride on all terrains including city streets as well as beautiful country roads. This single pushchair is suitable from birth and can be used with a range of car seats (with the appropriate adapters) to create an entire travel system.

The V5 model is equipped with high-tech fabrics that are waterproof, a new peekaboo magnetic window, a more effective 5-point safety harness, and an easier one-handed fold mechanism. It also comes with rain cover and basket. If you plan to use your stroller right from the moment of birth, you could buy a baby insert. You'll need to purchase the newborn insert separately if you plan to use your baby's buggy with car seats.

The Nipper Double is at the upper end of the price range for side-by-side prams. However, it is sturdy and well-constructed and can be used by newborns to children until the age of four. The lack of parent-facing seat options, and the fact that it is not compatible with car seats, can place it in a more expensive category than some other models, however the good manoeuvrability and ability to handle all terrains make it a strong contender.

The user manual is very simple and easy to comprehend. The only criticisms I have is that they're loud, clunky and that the Velcro used to secure them can cause your baby to wake up. This is especially a problem when you're walking in a quiet area of the park, and you don't want to disrupt other parents.  pushchairsandprams  were also mentioned as a problem.

Britax Romer

Britax Romer is a prestigious brand that is committed to 'protecting dreams' and making sure your child is safest possible using child mobility solutions. Their aim is to ensure family travel is safe and they accomplish this by offering car seats that have been thoroughly tested and durable.

The Dualfix M i-Size car seat is worth the investment. It's extremely easy to put in (it snaps right onto the chassis and makes a reassuring sound) and will last until they're 4 years old.

It's built with deep, softly padded side wings that cocoon your little one to help reduce the force of an impact and their high back design provides the best head protection. It's got an innovative feature that will let you know whether the seat is properly installed.

There are also a lot of other features, including smart lighting that changes color to signal whether your child is sleepy or hungry. There's also a ventilation window to keep your child cool and there's even an extra large hood with mosquito guards.

It's not cheap, and you may have to find a cheaper deal in case you intend to use it from birth. It's also very heavy, so you might require assistance to carry it into your car. Another thing to consider is that there are a few small honeycomb-like exposed areas on the bottom of the seat, where the vomit and spilled smoothies could migrate - you'll have to be careful about this when your child is prone to illness.
